The Cimbri were a Germanic tribe that migrated southward from Jutland (modern Denmark) in the late 2nd century BCE, causing significant disruption in Gaul and threatening Rome. Along with the Teutones and Ambrones, they inflicted several devastating defeats on Roman armies before being ultimately defeated by Gaius Marius at the Battle of Vercellae in 101 BCE.
